Unless something has changed recently... the big 5 formerly known as reptiles of concerned are now illegal. This includes Burmese Pythons, African Rock Pythons, Reticulated Pythons, Anacondas, Scrub Pythons, and nile monitors.
You used to be able to get a reptiles of concern permit but as of July 2010 that is no longer available. to my understanding ONLY zoos and commercials breeders can still get them.
Eastern indigo snakes are not entirely illegal but they may as well be.... the permit for them is extremely difficult to get a hold of.
Red ear sliders are illegal but I do not know the specifics on that.
Venomous reptiles are legal with a permit and permitting process -while time consuming- is a very good one. You must complete 1000 hours of training with someone who possesses a permit, pay a fee, and submit to house annual house checks by the FWS (to ensure safe, proper enclosures) I believe they are also requiring an emergency plan to be in place now as well, in the event of a hurricane or other such incident.

Two minor points:
Anyone who owned Reptiles of Concern AND GOT THE PERMIT before a certain date is "grandfathered" and can continue to keep the individual animals that were listed on their inventory at that time (I don't remember the date, but it is long past). They cannot get more animals or replace the ones they have.
Venomous keepers must agree to allow inspections, but most people (including me) report that they rarely inspect after the initial inspection done before the permit is issued, unless they have reason to be suspicious.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure they are no longer issuing any personal permits for any crocodilians. I think they are all Class I (no personal permits for quite a while) or Class II (recently stopped issuing personal permits).
There could be exceptions I'm not aware of.

Alligators are still listed as class 3 on their website so you should still be able to obtain them but crocs and caimans are class 2 (very tough to get). I have never been inspected for my venomous permit (except before I got it) but if you piss off the right people in FWC, they will tear your house apart looking for infractions. Also, dealers may still keep the big constrictors for some amount of time as long as they have proof of being a breeder/ importer /seller.
