Are you speaking of "Nutty Natty", I believe he went by. I know he suffered 2 bites from puff adders and then abandoned the attempt at the encouragement of his wife/family.

This was a young man and I don't think he was from the U.S. This was about three years ago. He had remained in the enclosure about 72 days , the last I heard. His nickname was Arietans. I don,t think it was nutty natty. Any other ideas

There have been 3 different folks who spent time in the enclosure with a bunch of venomous snakes, trying to break the Guiness record.
They were Martin Smit,(Mad Marten), Natie Swart, (Nutty Natie), and a third fellow whose name I can not remember.
The third fellow did not attract as much attention, but, managed to stay the longest time in with the snake, and I think has the new record. He also was not bitten by any of the snakes in the process.
This all happened at the Chameleon Village Reptile and Conservation Park at Hartbeespoortdam, in South Africa. If you Google the Chameleon Village, you will find tons of links to the various snake sit in attempts. All of the attempts were supposedly to raise money for charity, although there is some controversy as to what the money raised actually went for.
This is all different of course from the stunt in California or Nevada, where Donald Shultz spent some time in a glass cage with a bunch of mostly venomoid snakes. But, that is a different story.
Hope this helps. Google the Chameleon Village, and you will probably find what you are looking for.
Best Regards

I believe Martin is the one who the poster is refering to. Martin posts as 'Arietans' on VC, and other sites. I do not know any details about a bite, however..

Yes, it was Martin. I got the information from Cro's suggestions. Thanks. It seems the record is 113 days
