...or is this something more mundane? I found oblong (2-3cm), yellowish mystery items in my S. miliarius cage this morning. Had they been in a ratsnake cage I would have thought them to be unfertilized eggs. But, wel...It may just be easier to show you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwemKK98ahw

Weird! It's like something you would see in "Alien". How long have you had this snake?

Very interesting Josh. Did you do any further examination? I am curious what, if any, type of internal organization you saw once the mass was dissected. Charles

Kelly, I've had her since she was a neonate...around six years. Charles, There was no real organization. They had the consistancy of chicken egg yolks when they were fresh. On or two had dried out fully in the video, and you can see that they had fracture patterns similar to dried out egg yolk.

I have had a few of my females pass those when giving birth. Always assumed they were "slugs".

That was my thought. But this female is a virgin. Maybe she's telling me that she's ready to breed?

Sure sounds/looks like mother nature is telling her to reproduce. You should go out and get her a boyfriend. I would be glad to help you raise an offspring ;) Charles

She was yolking and they just were not fertilized.

Infertile egg mass. Just like a chicken egg at the grocery store. You meed a male to successfully breed the critters
