I am going on a trip to West Point Lake on the Georgia Alabama line in a few weeks and am curious if anyone knows how common Canebrake Rattlesnakes (Crotalus horridus atricadatus) are in that area, as well as any other venomous snake such as the southern copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix contortrix), Eastern Cottonmouth (Agkistrodon piscivorus piscivorus), or Eastern Diamondback (Crotalus adamanteus). The area that I will be staying at is very secluded and has several miles of paved back roads, swamps, and dense forest with multiple varieties of suitable habitat for the species that I will be looking for. I would greatly appreciate any information on this area or its venomous snake population.
Thanks,
Brandon

The species that you have named are not too hard to find up there. You may come across the occasional pygmy (sistrurus miliarus)as well as the eastern Coral (micrurus fulvious). Just be mindful of where you put your feet when you're looking for them. Good luck - let us know how you do.
