Ask this to 100 different snake collectors and you will get 98 different answers. I find that the best cages are the ones I build for myself. They are exactly what I want. Take care, Marty

I use 3 different styles. As Marty stated people prefer different caging and I prefer different caging depending upon the species. I really like caging made my Showcase cages, vision, and then for arboreal cages I like Zoo Med terrariums. I have made my own cages before also, but I prefer the Visions and Showcases in place of those due to the weight of mine was high.

I use Neodesha, Animal Plastics, Habitat Systems, and Crescent Moon Creations just to add four more to the list of 100 different ways to house venomous herps:-) Off display, I like Neodesha but I'm a bit old school.

Something I am surprised has not been addressed here is that the caging needs differ drastically depending on the kind of venomous snake in question.
A cage that might be perfectly suited for a Death Adder or a Gaboon Viper might be completely inadequate for a Mamba or Boomslang.
There are no easy answers when it comes to safety.
You might get a much better answer if you tell us what you are trying to cage.

Each of the cage manufacturer shared so far make cages of suitable size for just about any species of venomous herp. We made some modifications to our AP cages, for example, to include shatter proof glass which cost more than the cage itself. It's a good topic because when you talk about cages, you also need to talk about things like sliding front doors vs swing out (or down) doors, back opening versus front opening, etc. Might be a good topic for next October's venom workshop!
