Hello all,
I am writting in response to the "bites and anaphalaxsis shock" responses.I would like to know if anyone has any specific information on the neurotoxic components and effects of EDB venom? What they are,how they work and what they do basically. Are they pre synaptic or post synaptic or none of the above. Also does anyone have anymore detailed info about the waist down paralysis effect in addition to Chris Harper's resonse(that one almost made my head explode, very cool, thanks Mr. Harper for that bit of info) about the neurotoxin that enters synaptic gap, destroyes neurotransmitters at the leval of the cauda equina. What specific neurotransmitter(s) does this toxin target and destroy.Does this occur specifically in the nerves cauda equina itself.(from my very limited reading the cauda equina comprises the roots of all spinal nerves below L1 vertebrae namely sacral and coccygeal nerves).Or does it affect other nerves as well.Any info or corrections to what I have written is greatly appreciated.Thank to you guys Chris Harper,BGF and you other guys and girls for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us.Hope everyone has a little time to respond while you are having all the fun in Daytona.
Thanks. J.S.
