Any help for my dream job?

I have currently fully realized what my dream job is. I want to own and run a place that is a combination Herpetarium, natural museum, wildlife rehabilitation center, and conservation park. It has always been my dream to be able to travel the world and explore new places to see new animals in their natural habitat. To study them and to hopefully get a better understanding of their natural histories. I have also been interested in showing snakes to the public to show them how magnificent these creatures can be. (I can't be the only person who can see snakes as cute ;)). But, i have also wanted to conserve these species to thrive by breeding them to help increase the wild population and to sell some CB specimens to ease stress on wild populations. (Are conservation centers even allowed to do this?). If i ever get this idea off the ground i would start with native species from NC to show how great the native species are, and a few exotics to draw a crowd to fund research and expansion.
Eventually I would like to expand into Avian species through conservation and wildlife rehabilitation. Maybe reptile rescues. I have work many long days at a wildlife rehabilitation center and it is actually my minor. I have also done alot of field work with snakes in the area. Catching my first Timber rattlesnake.
I guess what i'm asking is how would i get this idea of the ground, what would be my limitations, what do i have to do/have academically, and how plausible is my idea?

Not an easy question to answer since there are so many potential avenues, all of which are fraught with difficulties (and stupid legislative impediments). Key of course is using your passion as fuel. Naturally the more degrees you can collect, the more doors that will open.

Hailing from NC, I'd love to visit should you get things going...
A quick google on "North Carolina wildlife sanctuaries" turned up a number of rehab sites in the state that might be able to help with guidance. For the herp side, have you tried to contact the Cape Fear Serpentarium in Wilmington? I would suspect someone associated with the Serpentarium would be a good first contact for herpetarium-specific guidance...
