I recently bought a ZooMed under cage heat unit.
Its the kind that sticks to the bottom of the cage or tank. It provides a nice warm spot and only uses 4 watts.
But the sticky part does not stick very well. It comes loose.
Would there be any problem using tape to hold it in place? I'm thinking duct tape or some other heavy duty tape. At 4 watts, it does not seem like it would be a problem.
Anyone else have experience with these heaters?
Thanks.

ZooMed makes a lot of good products but in my opinion, their UTH are the worst on the market. They seem to spike and quite often crack the glass.
If you are going to use tape, use the aluminum foil tape. It will hold up longer and withstand higher temps.

I've never had any problems with any other brand. Ironically, Exoterra "Heatwave" UTH are the least expensive and work just fine. I have some that have been in use for 12+ years. They don't adhere very well to Visions and Nedeshas so I do use aluminum tape to assist with holding them in place.
