How often do you feed your gaboon?

I want to facilitate a conversation on the feeding frequency of gaboon vipers. Over the years I've kept these snakes I have stuck to a typical heavy-bodied snake feeding regime, but the more and more I read up on them that leads to their demise. Heck, I have just dealt with an RI with baboons for the first time… Husbandry can always improve and we can always do better.
For example:
I have a female who grew to close to 3 feet her first year. I ensure that she is well hydrated by injecting her food with water. At 3 feet of length, I feed her a rat weanling between 7 to 10 days. Is this over doing it?
