Have an unexpected litter of atrox (I don't usually have any gravid snakes) I have tried both live and frozen thawed pinks and have gotten one to eat. Just wondering if there is something else that I can try?

Make sure they have had their first shed and that they are in individual containers with proper temps. Offer appropiate size live pinks at night, overnight, and leave them undisturbed till the next morning. They are eating machines. I usually have at least 60 to 70% feeding success rate with first attempt and the next 25% shortly after. The remaining 5% are a little tougher and may or may not feed voluntarilly. After a few live feeds, most will readilly switch to F/T. Good luck.

All but one has eaten. The one who didn't never tagged the pinkie that I saw but was dragging it around the bin chewing on it. Should I just wait a few days and try again?

Yes. Wait about 3 days undisturbed and try again. After a few live feedings start trying F/T. They will all eventually switch. Usually not a problem after a few live feedings. Congratulations.

A freind of mine showed me a trick. I involved cracking a dead mouse's head open and exposing the brains. He normally only keeps nonvenomous snakes, and when he breeds then he "brains" the baby's food for about two weeks. He said something about mouse brains is just tasty for snakes.
Let me know if you use it and it works.

"Braining" seems to be a fairly well known, tried and tested technique for fussy eaters. I've never actually tried it myself, or heard an explanation of why it works, but I have a theory.
I've observed many snakes eating and noticed that many of them seem to slide their noses around the perimeter of the prey until they get to the nose where they usually (but not always) start eating. My theory is that hey are looking for a particular smell, probably of the nerve endings in the animal's nose, because starting there makes most animals easier to swallow. I suspect that brain matter has a similar smell, so exposing it triggers the feeding response.
Think of the smell when your neighbor is barbequing in his back yard...
