Okay, this forum seems to be getting slow again (must be the stupid winter time blues) so I'll try to throw in a good forum question.
If you could catch any one snake in the wild, which one would you choose? You could judge this by your favorite species, a dangerous species such as King Cobra or Black Mamba, or rare species like Fea's Viper or Rough Scaled Python.
It is funny because even though I am the forum starter on this I am not sure if I'll be able to answer my own question. This is kind of like, if I could herp in any one place in the world, where would I go?
I guess I would have to say that I would want to catch a monsterous Terciopelo (Bothrops asper). If I couldn't get a large one then I would probably want to catch a golden-lance head (Bothrops insularis) on the island of Queimada Grande.

I would go for C.w. obscurus on Animas Peak in New Mexico.
This is a childhood dream that came very close to reality -- maybe next time.

I think I would rather catch a 6 foot long albino cottonmouth or copperhead. I also would like to catch the eastern diamondback rattler record.

Gosh, like you said, hard question to address. I guess if I absolutely had to choose, obviously the location would be Australia, but the species I'm not sure about. I'd love to catch mainland coastal and inland taipans, but I'd also equally love to catch or even see mulgas, red-bellied blacks, collett's, gwardars, etc. I guess if I had to choose though, my dream capture would be an 8'+ mainland coastal, caught without a hitch during the daylight hours either on someones farm or in the bush. Ah...what a dream...lol.

Either a monster 7' plus EDB or a large Eastern Indigo would be a great thrill.

Dream snake capture?
I would like to find and photograph (without disturbing if possible) a Ridge-nosed Rattlesnake in the wild.
I am also looking forward to going back to Guam and photographing the Brown Tree Snake in the wild. And anything I can find in Australia the next time I make port there. Another Tiger Snake would be nice. Maybe I'll get to be there long enough to go find a Death Adder next time. Aren't digital cameras the absolute best field herping invention?!?!
