You don't need any permits to keep native venomous reptiles in Georgia. A city might have an ordinance against it though.

Correct, no permits required for the following species and ssp:
Southern Copperhead
Northern Copperhead
Osage Copperhead
Broadband Copperhead
TransPecos Copperhead
Eastern Cottonmouth
Florida Cottonmouth
Western Cottonmouth
Dusky Pygmy Rattler
Carolina Pygmy Rattler
Western Pygmy Rattler
Eastern Coral Snake
Timber Rattlesnake
Canebrake Rattlesnake :)
Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake
(Georgia does not recognize ssp in venomous)

Actually, if you had visited the Georgia Department of Natural Resources you would know ALL pit vipers and coral snakes can't be held without a license. Same with local snakes.

I suggest you research next time before you give someone the go-ahead.

You are incorrect SNOPES. Native venomous species do NOT fall under those regulations and those species I listed CAN be kept without a permit. I would suggest you call DNR to verify.
