I don't know for sure how long they live but I would think between 15 and 20 years. As far as their diet goes, it depends on the size of the snake and the prey. They have a pretty low metabolism and some people like to wait until they crap before feeding them again which can take a while, but boy when it comes it really comes. They are a heavy bodied snake so even though they may be three feet, they have no problems taking in small/medium rabbits. As a juvenile you can feed them a small mouse(bigger than a hopper) about once a week. Now that mine are 3.5 feet, I'll feed them a mid size rabbit every three weeks or so or two jumbo rats. Gaboons have huge appetites, but try not to overfeed.
