any of you cats ever had any dealings with John Hollister? I found him to be quite rude while visiting his chatroom and was wondering what that guys deal is.

I have met John Hollister in person on a couple of occasions. He seemed pretty straightforward to me. I have also chatted on his forum for a few years and have found him to be tempermental at times but mostly entertaining. All-in-all I guess it comes down to...it IS his chatroom. There are lots of others but I would have to say that most herp chat rooms require the visitor to have a strong sense of self and a fairly thick skin. Good luck, sorry you felt out of sorts. Karl H. I agree, and if you dont get along with someone in a chatroom, no matter who it is, IRC has a neat little feature, its called 'Ignore'. And, personally, I think you should just suck it up and listen to what people in there have to say, not all are worth listening to, but you can pick up some good info from people in that room, regardless if you like them or not.

i'VE NEVER VISITED HIS CHATROOM BUT DID MEET HIM IN PERSON ONE NIGHT OUT SNAKE HUNTING THE TRANS-PECOS AREA. i FOUND HIM TO BE QUITE NICE AND ENTERTAINING. WE PROBABLY TALKED FOR 30-45 MINUTES, BUT THAT'S MY ONLY ENCOUNTER WITH HIM. JOHN

WELL IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR. HE HAS A VERY SMART A_ _ WAY ABOUT HIM. AND HE SEEMS TO HAVE A SPECIAL CLICK AT HIS FORUM, BUT HE IS KNOWLEGABLE.
