		    | There are really a lot of variables involved, primarily the quantity of venom injected, further the body weight of the victim.  That said, I would say that the fastest acting would be any of several of the Crotalus species.  Surprisingly, our one (or technically two) neurotoxic snake, the coral, has a venom that very often does not cause symptoms for several hours.  All of the crotalids (pit vipers) have venoms that cause virtually instantaneous pain.  The other symptoms, like swelling & discoloration come sooner or later, depending upon the severity of the bite. Sorry I could not give you a more specific answer.  Not sure there is one.
