Don't ya think if he has ANY experience with hots he would know were to get one from? Especially a common snake like an EDB. Here you....just go to the Hamburg show, tell the vendors you don't have any experience with hots and, unfortunately, you'll get someone who'll sell you one. I don't mean to be a pr!ck, as much as I always seem to be one, but we have had enough bad press
in the past few weeks. Bottom line, if you can't find an eastern diamondback for sale, I'm thinking you may not be ready to keep one.

I don't mean to be a prlck either, but I simply can't resist letting you answer your own question. The following is taken directly from your user profile:
<QUOTE>What is your occupation ?
PetshopOwner,snakehunter,keeperfor 30 yr.s
What venomous species do you keep ?
copperheads,timbers,cottonmouths,easterndiemondbackrattlesnake,s
What advice do you have for new venomous keepers ?
be,careful!watch what you are doing.don,t,handle venomoussnake,s at all,leave it to us....the best,snakecatchers...were we can go hunting...<QUOTE>
That said, I guess you should either take one from your pet shop or collection, as you are the owner, or "go hunting".
Just based on your question and your profile, I would be hesitant in thinking you are ready to keep venomous snakes. I truly hope you heed the advice given to you here.

They're not a-holes cotton, but come on.....I think oOCrotalusOo hit the nail on the head, (read the profile).....I myself dont know alot about hots,so i ask questions. Dont come off like you are Jeff Corwin on your profile, then ask a question like that,I mean come on. The majority of people in this group are very knowledgeable, and helpful. But dont insult their intelligence!

Alright, some perspective.

I have been keeping venomous for 28 years now.
I have never been to Hamburg.
I never had been to a venomous show until I joined the SHHS.
Although I can walk to proven areas of Eastern Diamondback habitat from my home (where we have found quite a few spectacular specimens), I intend to buy CB EDBs when I retire from my current job and get into breeding them myself.
At this time, I cannot say for sure that I know anyone who has established breeders and I will probably be asking here for any breeder contact information, myself.
So, does that mean that I am a phony with no experience? No. It means that I came to a place that advertises "ask your questions here" and hoped to get treated as I would expect others to want to be treated.
I have said before, if you cannot answer the question asked, fine, don't answer. But that doesn't mean jump down someone's throat because you think their question shows an ignorance of something you think should be common knowledge. Obviously, it is NOT "common" knowledge.
While we seem to have a trend of people finally looking at each other's profiles before answering questions, a quick review of the answers here show that half of the responders have not given their names or contact information. It is real easy to be critical of others if you do not have to personally stand up for what you have typed. Anonymous mudslinging is usually cowardly and low. Think about what you intend to type and ask yourself "Would I say this if the guy was standing in front of me either looking big enough to do me damage or looking more intelligent than the way his question comes across?" I promise you that some of the people that everyone considers to be "experts" look just like the guy next door who has just finished mowing his lawn.
Karl H. Betz (who currently has no-one to recommend as a breeder of affordable Eastern Diamondbacks)

Here's some perspective: The original post did not ask about captive born. There's a HUGE difference between inquiring about reputable breeders and crawling out from under a rock and asking about where to find an "e.diamondback" for sale.
