I am from NE Mississippi and i havent seen any snakes right now road cruising is one of the best ways to find snakes.

I live in the same town as elapidking81. I just got three nice brown water snake yesterday and missed one. I got a baby corn a few weeks ago and have seen a few others. The kid next door came by with a baby gray rat snake a weeks ago and I seen a big something last week but could not catch up to it to see what it was. Just big......Fabian

We live in SE Ga and went road riding tonight about 11pm , after a full day of rain.
Rode the usual roads and found notinh, not even a carcass.
Gave up and headed home. Within minutes of calling the night over, we happened upon a 2ft banded water snake. Not 25 yards away further, we came across a 3.5ft cottonmouth. Both on the road and the water snake was in good condition, but the cottonmouth saw the bad side of a truck tire. We know it was a truck, as it had just passed us before the water snake, and the cottonmouth was still oozing blood. Sad that folks refuse to give way to any animal.
Also, about two weeks ago, my former wife saw a snake in our flower bed. I came to see what species and found it to be a common garter, a child, it was about 1.5ft long and living among the anoles in our flower beds.
My brother, who lives about 8 miles away, brought me a yellow ratsnake from his yard about two weeks ago.
A man had told my former wife last week that he had killed a pygmy in his yard.
The snakes are out !!!!!!! wooohooo !!!!!!!

Hi:
Caught a nice Racer (~4'long) tonight near the Memphis, TN airport. Going out somemore this weekend when I really have time. I was out looking for likely spots and saw a plywood sign on the side of the road, so I stopped on a whim...low & behold...one nice racer.
I will release it back in the same place tomorrow. It was "tricky" sneeking into the Hotel for the night. I hope they don't review the security camera tape. LOL

North Florida checking in here - since April 15th, I have logged 7 racers, 3 cottonmouths, 2 red rats, 1 yellow rat, 1 scarlett king baby, 8 or 10 garters, 1 HUGE!!!! Indigo and 1 eastern diamondback yearling. Almost all were in the last week after all the rain and all except the EDB, Racers, garters and Indigo were seen at night. The racers are everywhere here in St. Johns/ Flagler counties. Matt
