I have a southern copperhead which I have had for about two years. Recently I was notified by a friend that there were two copperheads in her yard mating. She was deathly afraid of the snakes and wanted them gone. I told her I would be right over to get the snakes. Before I arrived, her husband unfortunately killed one of them(I think it was the male). I was able to rescue the female who, by the way, doesn't smell so good. I do not want to put her near my other snakes because I don't know what parasites or mites she may have. Does anyone know of a good way to clean a snake. I gently hosed her off yesterday but, she still has some dried blood on her which came from the decapitated male. Someone mentioned a 50/50 mix of water and listerine! If anyone has ever heard of this or maybe has a better idea, please let me know. I would like to keep the snake to see if she is gravid and possibly breed her at a later time with my male. Thanks to all who reply.
