Does anyone have any methods for finding timber rattlers in wooded areas or pine barrens? I know they are in the area because we have found them dead on the dirt road. I am thinking about laying some tin out in the area to see what luck I will have.

THAT IS BY FAR THE BEST WAY TO FIND THE OLD CANEBRAKE, BUT IT MIGHT TAKE A MONTH BEFORE THEY FIND IT. GO TO CROOKED RIVER STATE PARK AND HEAD BACK ON RIVER TRAIL. THERE YOU WILL SEE A COUPLE HUGE DEAD TREES LAYING ON THE GROUND. WE FOUND 2 IN TEN MINUTES UNDER AND IN THE
TREE. I JUST E-MAILED YOU ABOUT THE 4-H CAMP.

Hey anoymous,
When did you go down there to find them and what time of day? I was there the second week of April and didn't see any of them. I did find in the park mother alligator and babies in this little pond of some trails. Also at the same time i saw a banded water snake too.
