There are people out Swamp road who go from ditch to ditch killing all the snakes they see with a 22 rifle. They drive a blue dodge truck I think. If any of yall are in the Swamp road area and see them, beat the hell out of them and throw them in the creek or something. Thats what we are going to do if the DNR doesnt do anything about it. They have already killed numbers of watersnakes, cottonmouths, and others we probably aint found yet. I think that is just stupid and sick for someone to get enjoyment out of that. Oh yea we found two grey rats that were thrown in a fire either alive or dead that we think they done also. This needs to stop!

thats disgusting. when i was in grade school i got in 2 fights over kids trying to kill animals. once it was a spring peeper and another time it was a garter snake.

KYLE, FIND SOME WHITE POSTER BOARD AND PLACE SEVERAL SIGNS SAYING THAT IT IS UNLAWFUL TO KILL SNAKES ON THAT ROAD. MAKE IT LOOK PROFESSIONAL AS POSSIBLE. AMAZENLY IT CAN WORK. WE HAD SOME IDIOTS SHOOTING TURTLES AT A LOCAL LAKE AND DID JUST THAT AND IT STOPPED THEM IN THIER TRACKS! IF YOU HAVE TO RIGHT DNR AT THE END OF YOUR BOARD.

When i was but 11 or so, a few of the neighborhood kids thought it was funny to kill a garter snake and fling it up into the air like a cat might do. As they sped off on their BMX's, I flung a stick into the spokes of one of the killers' front tires. I was satisfied that he bled more than the snake ever had to begin with.

While I can completely understand your feelings about this subject, as I certainly have them myself any time I see a snake or any other animal purposely slaughtered on the highway, you really can't, and shouldn't, go outside the boundaries of the law to try to make it right. You know the old saying, two wrongs don't make a right. If you or anyone else tries anything bad physically to these or any other people doing the exact same thing, you are no better off than they are. Let the police do their job. Get a license plate number if you can and report the vehicle. Take a digital camera with you every time you go out there and try to get some proof. Doing anything else is likely to just get your hurt, because if the rednecks there are anything like the rednecks here in Arkansas, they are very likely to carry a gun and knives in their vehicle and/or on them, and you are likely to be hurt or even killed if they see you as a threat to "their way of life." I completely agree with the signs thing. You may even put something to the extent of "This road is under surveillance" or whatever. It wouldn't be a lie, as you are the one keeping an eye on it. Just whatever you do, don't do anything stupid and end up getting yourself or someone else you care about hurt or thrown in jail or juvenile detention. These idiots are simply NOT worth it. -Chance

here in OUR own pond some "red necks" where shooting all the tutles and snake aroud it so what did we do.....simple, I waited till I saw one down at the pound shooting called the law and said he shot at me and barly missed. asalt with a deadly weppon, traspasing, poching (he was keeping the killed turts)' never saw him agen around our pond.

well living in the great state of mississippi we have a good reputation of having alot of rednecks and i never thought much of it but when i here things like " yeah i sited my gun in this week I used some stupid ole turtles as a targed awe man it was cool to see them explode when you hit them " and now i know why they didnt graduate high school LOL. to see and here the ignorance that comes out of there mouths it is really amazing now dont get me wrong i dont feel that there is any thing wrong about being country, and i dont feel that there is any thing wrong about hunting and fishing i hunt and i fish but i dont shoot every little thing that walks in my path. but what we call rednecks they dont seem to mind that they make all southerners or country people look really bad acting the way they do i wish I could say my state was any diffrent but were not we have the same idiots if not more and I have found that there dead set in there ways and have no desire to change its sad really sad.just my 2 cents shane kissinger

I cant understand WHY your states DNR or local police wouldnt be interested in these cretins! As far as I know shooting from a road is illegal? Is in most States..Perhaps the laws ar different where you are?...In any case its sad to see such ignorance and disrespect for other life...I hunt and fish myself but when I run into idiots like those mentioned Im ashamed to call myself a member of the same species..

that is so fucking rediculous. I am planning on going on a trip next weekend to swamp road and that makes me sick. I will be pissed off all day thinking about that. There are four more people going with me and if we see them doing that I GUARUNTEE that they will never kill another snake!!!!!!!!!!!
