Hi, I would like to ask some advice on caring for Vipera ammodytes meridionalis. I have kept both V.a.ammodytes and V.a.montandoni in the past and all of them fed on mice and lizards in captivity. Now I have a 2 and a half foot female V. a. meridionalis I caught in Greece and it hasen`t ate since I caught it. I tried both mice and lizards.Has any one ever kept this subspecies? Cand any one give some tips on it? Is it different from the other ones in behavior? I would apreciate anything. Thanks.

Hi!
I'm from Europe and I've also many Ammodytes from different Areas. Check if your Snake eat small Birds. The most start feeding in Captivity with Birds. After they eat this, you can give medium Mices who smell like Birds. Give some fresh killed Mice with fresh killed Birds together in a Box and into the Freezer. Normaly this is the Start for a good Mice Eater for the Future. Never give Ammodytes Lizards to eat!!!!! When they like this Food, it's very hard to Change on Mice.
