We had a lg adult sav. monitor dropped in our hands for care. The animal seems to be in good health, good body weight, good appetite, alert, etc. However it cannot walk straight. It makes constant left turns. ANY IDEAS ANYBODY?? My wife thought about maybe an ear infection??

Could be neurological, I suggest a visit to a competent exotic veterinarian, to have him checked out. Just to be sure there is nothing seriously wrong.

Be careful to keep it separate from the rest of your collection. I don't know how prone Varanids are to contracting diseases like Inclusion Body Disease and other devastating neurological ailments, but you certainly don't want it spreading around if it is that and you have other animals in the area. Until it is diagnosed, be sure to sanitize your hands as best you can after handling it and keep it well distant from the other critters.
