Has anyone ever tryed caging mice and putting them in the field to catch rattlers? I think that if you place them in a good area it should attract a rattler. Maybe putting a peice of tin out with the mice under it in the cage would work.

Good guess. You're right. That trap wouldn't catch EDB's, as they are not "moving and stalking" predators. Rather, they are ambush predators that will locate a rodent-trail, then set up an ambush. Much as a deer hunter would do.

Maybe he could put a rabbit on a leash and take him for a walk....I'm only joking. You wouldn't have much luck with this idea. Anyway, it's a lot more fun to go turning stumps and brush...
