You can get it at Wal-Mart. I've never used it on a snake, but if I did I would put it in a bucket and dust him thorougly. Let him sit for a day or so with no water bowl so he can't ingest any of the dust. Take him out and rinse him very well. Put him in a clean enclosure and provide a small clean water bowl. Watch to see if the ticks die or not. I have used this method on wild caught ball pythons before with tick & flea powder instead of sevin dust.

Any garden supply center carries it. Make SURE you get the 5%..not the 10%. Place the snake in a cloth bag with a tablespoon or two of the dust. Knot the bag & shake it a bit to make sure the snake gets thoroughly covered. Clean the cage thouroughly. Dry the cage thoroughly. Sprinkle a little dust on the floor of the cage. Put several layers of newspaper down. Put snake back in cage.

It won't hurt the snake's eyes at all. They have a clear scale over their eyes preventing irritants from bothering their eyesight. as far as fallng off or not, I don't know. I would not have the snakes in the same room as your others right now. Furthermore, I would wait until I was sure the ticks were gone before introducing them into the same room. You may also wish to consider a longer quarantine period for various infections your wild-caught snakes may be harboring.
