You live in one of the hottest areas of the country for canebrakes. I bet you could find one if you knew the places to hunt. Close to water source, under and around large fallen down trees.

We have found one this year and someone gave us another one. I have also found a couple dead on the highway. They are not as easy to find as you think.

Kyle, I went down there and i found one canebreak in Stephen C. Foster. It was three feet and that was all i could tell b/c it was under some logs and i couldnt get close enought to work him out of there. I would say find some huge fallen down logs with gaps under them right at the edge of the field that is a great place to find them. If you find one during the day in will probaly be asleep since they are nocturnal.
Good luck,
Phillip
PS: There are one heck of alot of cottonmouths down there.
