The basal condition of the advanced snakes was a snake with a small venom gland and slightly enlarged, grooved teeth. From there, it has been a moveable feast.
There have been four indepedent of extremely advanced fangs
- the long, vertically hinged fangs of the Viperidae
- the short, vertical fixed fangs of the Elapidae
- the long, horizontally hinged fangs of the Atractaspidae
- the quite mobile, decently long (longer than elapids) fangs of the Disphidus/Thelatornis clade within the Colubrinae family.
Other snakes have fangs quite long enough to be considered 'advanced'. The Macropisthodon genus within the Natricinae family have fangs equal to many vipers and some of the Xenodontinae family genera have massive, heavy fangs, Tomodon, Xendodon and Waglerophis in particular.
Smaller, but still quite effective, fangs are littered all over the remaining colubroids.
Cheers

There are three different types of fangs. One is opistoglyphous, which is when the back teeth of the maxillary bone are enlarged (hognose). Another is proteroglyphous, which is the fixed fangs found in elapids. Finally, there is solenoglyphous, which is the hollow erectible fang found in vipers.
Hope this was what you were looking for,
Will
