Gopher Tortises and Indigo snakes

I am going down to St. Marys soon and I was wondering what is a good time to view Gopher Tortises walking around and eating. Also when is a good time of the day to go looking for indigo snakes.

Crooked river has a nice population of tortises. You can see them from the road, but if the ranger sees you walking over to thier dens they will go off. We saw most of them in the late evening, and the Indigo in the early morning, around 8 am.
