I wouldn't call myself an expert on in this context, but here's what I found with a quick search. No information, only references to books from early in the century. One is in polish, and expect the other is in hungarian. The title of the first book may tell you something about why you don't see much info about it...
Bolkay,S.J.(1913):Additions to the fossil herpetology of Hungary from the Pannonian and Praeglacial Period. Mitt. Jahrb. Kgl. Ungar. Geol. Reichsanst., Budapest 21(7):217-230.
O razvojnom redu Vipera gedulyi By., Vipera ammodytes L., Vipera meridionalis Blgr. On the phylogenetical series Vipera gedulyi By.--V. ammodytes L.--V. meridionalis Blgr.

hello martyn the reason there is no information on vipera gedulyi is because its an extict species closely related to vipera ammodystes , its is a snake found from the upper miocene discoverd in 1913 in hungary in polgardi , the only thing left from this animal is small skull bones . this is why i always say any expert should be interested in the evalution . a very good question but the species does no longer exist
thanks , good question

yes i m 17 years old and going to college , thanks for the complements , it was a good question its no wonder most peaple have never heard of vipera gedulyi only a few bones are all thats left , when you hear of these pre historic snakes you look it up on the net and hardly anything will be found apart from a few bits of refrance from when it was found in this case 1913 by the person who discoverd it (bolkay)
for at least some more info encyclopedia of paleoherpetology serpentes is a good book
thanks
