Hi, I Watched Austin Stevens last night searcing for a wild King Cobra, which he found and it was a giant, 14 foot, but ive got two questions to ask u guys if thats Ok..
1. When the king came across a Spectacled CObra, after a short stand off, the Spectacled struck 3 times at the King but he did not strike back, Is the King immune to other snakes Venom or Just Indian Snakes Venom
2. Austin Stevens actually tailed the King, well more shouldered, he caught the tail, and manhandled it over his shoulder, is that genuine, I thought a snake of that size would of been able to whip round and tag him..
Ive seen this guy before on the " 7 Deadly Strikes", and i posted a question on that programme, which had a lot of replies and it was very interesting to read all you guys views, hope this Post is as well received as that one was i love hearing what you guys have to say...
Cheers from Scotland

Hi Mate:
The King is certainly immune to Indian snakes and others it may encounter accross it's range. No telling what kind of a set-up was arranged by Steve Austin and the producers of the show. It just may have been stressed by all the activity and not interesed in eating.
As I said, it could have been a King that has been in captivity for a while used for the "capture" scene. I've been to Thailand and saw with my own eyes people handling captive Kings like they were big Indigo Snakes. Not a bit aggressive at all, however, I certainly don't think anyone should free handle any hot snake. All animals are unpredictable, anything could trigger a fatal bite.
To answer your question directly; yes, what he did might get you killed if it was a true wild King.
Cheers!
Al
