Orlando Herping Spots?

is there any place near orlando that has some good herping spots? im am going on vacation with my family and i wanted to take some photographs of the native gators, snake, and turtle species. if you guys could give me directions from orlando to a good spot that has a good population of gopher tortoises and many snake species that would be great. my biggest goal is to photograph a gopher tortoise in the wild, im bringing my camera and i want to put it to good use. nay info would be appriciated, thanks!

Bob,
If anyone does come up with anything, let me know. As far as I know (been down there for the last 15 years 5 -6 times a year), you have to go away from the clutter there, in any direction. Gophers, if I'm not mistaken would be Northwest from there...towards the panhandle/Georgia line or Northeast. As for the other native reps...head south...the Glades Outpost people can assist you in finding the "true" natives. I've yet to hook up with them, while I'm down there (being on a bike doesn't allow for much "gear" if you know what I mean). One of these days, I'll make the trip with my truck and then I'll try hooking up with them, since they seem to be the authority down in that neck of the woods.

dont know about orlando , but if your driving i would stop by okeefenokee, i found a good sized gopher there.
