Is there an easy way to tell the sex of the sidewinders? I just got one in that does not have the horns above the eyes and is supposed to be a Sonoran. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

The only way to accurately sex snakes that are not sexually dimorphic, is to probe them. And there are no rattlesnakes that are sexually dimorphic.
Anyone with a set of probes that knows how to sex snakes can do it. You should first tube the front end of the animal, leaving the rear third (and cloaca) exposed. This is the best way to avoid being bitten. If you don't have probes or tubes, Midwest Custom Products sells them.( see that green banner at the top of the page?).
Keepers with a lot of experience can usually guess sexes fairly accurately, but aren't accurate 100% of the time. It would be impossible to tell you how to visually tell the sex of your snake in writing. That only comes with experience.
