I had a dead rat snake. It has been dead since saturday and I hadn`t time to buy alcohol so i put it in the freezing weather hoping it will preserve it`s self better till I can buy some alcohol. Today I took it out of it`s cotton bag and put it in a bottle with alcohol. In the proces I managed to get stung by one of it`s teeth on the thumb. the snake started to rot from the mauth and I was wondering if there is a high chanse of an infection aquiring. Thanks, Alex S.

Just to be safe wash it out real good and try to find a good desinfectent to use. Also, if you havent had your tecnus shot you mite want to go get it done. Be sure the prick is cleand out very good, use the strongest desinfectent you can find and you'll be OK.........Happy herping Wally
