Hi Jim, I just watched your last episode with you catching the Mojave's for vemon use. They said that the Mojave was the second most toxic rattler in the US. What would be considered the first? Jeff

The tiger rattlesnake has the most toxic venom of any rattlesnake.

Thanks BGF, you don't here much about the Tiger. I know a fellow who took a scrape on the index finger from a scute and almost died. Surely the Tiger puts out more than that but you seldom hear of any serious bites from them.

Hi Everyone:
Not too long ago (I could not find the thread) Jim answered a question like this. He felt that the Oceola (area) Canebreaks were very toxic too, right up there with the Scute & Tiger RS.
One thing for sure is I would not like a hit from any of them.

What about the Crotalus durissus ? I thought this one was the most toxic. How does this one stand ?

Yes tiger and actually midgefaded are more toxic then scutes.
Canebrake toxin is right up there and because of amount injected is a very dangerous bite.
Crotalus d.terrificus is more toxic then our Crotalus in parts of its region.
I told NG that scutes were one of our most toxic. They added that it was second. Thats editing for you.
