I know they are very venomous. But are They agressive, My friend thought of getting one.
PS. I think he is crazy

Unless your friend is VERY experienced with handling venomous snakes, he should rethink getting this snake.
The Russell's viper (Daboia russelli) is one of the most dangerous snakes in the world. They are responsible for many deaths each year in their home range. They are not only EXTREMELY venomous, they are EXTREMELY agressive. The few specimens that I have seen on price lists are also very expensive. I don't mean to be sarcastic, but if your friend is not familiar with these snakes, there are a lot less expensive ways of committing suicide. I know that it is tempting to keep such a beautiful snake, (they are among my favorites), but your friend should be aware of the risk and make his decision wisely.

I AM NOT AN EXPERT OR DO I CLAIM TO BE BUT I DO KNOW THAT RUSSELL'S VIPERS ARE VERY AGGRESSIVE ANIMALS AND ARE DIFFICULT EVEN FOR THE MOST EXPERIENCED KEEPERS. IF YOUR FRIEND DOES'NT HAVE PROPER TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE THEN HE IS GOING TO GET HIMSELF INTO A POTENTIALLY DEADLY SITUATION. YOU CAN FIND ALOT BETTER VENOMOUS CAPTIVES OUT THERE. AND IF YOUR FRIEND IS SET ON HAVING A VENOMOUS REPTILE PLEASE STRESS THE FACT THAT THE BEST THING HE CAN DO FOR HIMSELF AND THE ANIMAL HE CHOOSES IS TO RESEARCH EVERYTHING YOU CAN FIND ABOUT THAT ANIMAL AND WHAT IT IS CAPABLE OF. FIND OUT THE AVAILABILITY OF ANTIVENOM JUST IN CASE HE GETS TAGGED. SNAKE BITE IS NOT A NICE WAY TO DIE. GOOD LUCK.

Tell your friend that he might want to look in to an extremely aggerssive water snake ( there are many to choose from.) Keep it with a chart marking how many times he's been bitten. Above the chart write, "I could be dead right now." After having it for awhile ,In concidering the risks in that fashion,
weigh the option of owning that paticulur snake.
