Just FYI - As a paramedic, I've only worked 3 really bad dog attacks in 11 years. One was a rottweiler that mangled a 9 year old, and the other 2 cases were Black labs! In both cases with the Black labs though - sickly women were attacked. One was an elderly woman with alzheimers who was wandering around lost, and the other was a cancer patient who was going for a walk and was attacked by 2 black labs at once. In the rottweiler case, the boy took off running when the dog rounded the corner of the house. It ran right by a girl who was with the boy. With the alzheimer's patient, the dog had been trained to be a watch dog for missionaries in Haiti. The 2 dogs that attacked the cancer patient had no previous history of aggression at all. I'd guess they were just instinctively preying upon the sick and or wounded. [Oh yeah, all patients survived.]

Oh no labs!
Yes, that is right labs like chris said pit bulldogs have a very bad wrap one that I do not agree with but it is true they do attack but if you train and breed a dog to be a yard dog that guess what your going to get one same with other breeds just in my area I have heard of 2 lab attacks , 1 cocker spaniel that bit me, and some other mix breeds no pit bulls . And every dog that is of a mastive build is a pit around here, there is a guy that lives down the street and he owns a American bulldog, another guy from down the street was talking bad about the other guy saying it was bad that he owned that dog cause it was a pit, THERE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE SAME BREED, I informed him that it was a American bulldog ,oh yeah and this guy has a rottweiler.go figure according to the CDC the pit is on the list so is the rots and others but I read the reason that the pit is on the list is not because it bites more people but when it does bite there much more severe. Also on the list were St. Bernard’s and german shepherds and how many lives do these dogs save but you never here about them attacking anyone because everybody loves them unless your at the wrong end of a K9 police unit.

Jeremy,
Everybody gets carried away sometimes I'm not any different. You didn't cross the line into the profane, that's why I addressed to Mr." Anonymous" and not "Hey guys"
It okay to disagee and argue about different points of view. Just keep the verbage clean.

Phobos (Al), I don't know where you got your information about the snakes' lives being ended, but you are wrong!! Those snakes will be placed in a facility to live out their lives captively.

I have only worked 1 dog attack in 4 years in EMS. And this dog attack was from a black lab as well. This dog chased and attacked a Culligan Water guy as he was getting out of his truck and walking through a yard that neighbored the lab's property. On another note, my ex in-laws had a pair of Roties, and they decided to team up and take down a minature pony. And all 3 dogs are still alive til this day. Bryan
