I was recently at a reptile show and I noticed people doing idiotic things. One booth was selling caimans. A woman walked up to the booth and said "Is it a crocodile?" Later I witnessed her purchase the caiman and she didnt even know what it was. And Im guessing that she obviously doesnt know how big its going to get or how to take care of it.

That happens all the time, especially at reptile shows, that is why I don't go anymore. Too many idiots that have no clue about these animals and walk out with 4 or 5 snakes etc..!! Frustrating !!

That's why so many states are outlawing the selling and keeping of these types of animals. It isn't the lawmakers fault. It is the morons selling and buying the animals.

Ok,
Here’s what happened last time I went to the Dixie reptile show , I was waking around and seen this large young guy asking about the caimans he had and asked if he could handle one of them the guy at the booth said sure well I have had a caiman and any one that has had one knows that there pretty aggressive so I said you might want to be careful they can be pretty aggressive and he said du dud I know there carnivores so I smiled and stood back to watch the fun, he reached in and grabbed about a 15 incher and yelled oh s**t it bit me like he never thought it was gonna happen I laughed like heck and and said du there carnivores. I love those caimans.

the sad thing is.....I think she was buying it for her little son. Well, its good that they love reptiles and would want to care for one but it was just weird how easy they are to come by.

yeah, I was at the Greeneville show in October. This one stand had a bunch of WBD for sale and this guy said, "You mean I can buy one." "I dont need a permit?" You could tell by his actions, he doenst deal with hots in his hobby, or even if he has a hobby in reptiles. On a good note, he didnt buy one and the lady working the stand looked at me and shook her head at him. I said, " I dont think you needed to sell one to him anyways." People just have no clue. Bryan
