Night temps can drop to about 48F. Day, up to 70F. The lower temps DO work to the snake's advantage, as it slows his metabolism and conserves stored energy. If you raise the temps, you'll burn up all of his fat. Mimic what is happening in his naturual environment. Keep fresh water available at all times and every other day mist the cage. Don't make the substrate soggy though! Just like a light "dew".
At the end of Feb. You might start offering your snake a small to medium thawed rat (right before you put it in his cage, warm it with a blow dryer). If he doesn't take it, try again in a few days. I've had them start back eating as late as the end of March. A healthy diamondback can go off feed for as long as 5 months with no problem. Been there, done that. ;-0
