A few days ago I posted to this forum asking if anyone knows of any books or websites dealing with kraits (Bungarus ssp.) I'm afraid my post may have been misunderstood, so I wanted to take this time to explain, and in a way, to introduce myself. I do not keep any venomous snakes at this time and I may never. I have a debilitating spinal condition which severely limits my mobility. I am not really able to tend to the day to day care of any snakes, and I certainly don't trust my mobility and dexterity to the handling of a venomous snake. However venomous snakes are my passion. I spend the majority of my time either surfing the venomous websites (of which this site is by far the best and most informative) or with my nose buried in snake books or aimed at Discovery or Animal Planet. Kraits have really caught my attention lately and I want to learn all about them that I can. I know that it is hard these days to distinguish between those truly dedicated to snakes and those members of the "Hey ya'll, watch this" society. I apologize for the long post, but I wanted to assure you that I do what I do to educate myself and others about these beautiful, misunderstood creatures. My heartfelt gratitude and appreciation goes out to all of you you have helped and continue to help me and the countless others like me. God Bless You.

That wasn't my post Marc, some a$$ jumped on my puter last night and thought he would be a joker. Sorry about that. Kraits are tough to keep and the AV out there sucks, for the most part. There are not many good books out there for info and there are not many who keep them. I do use them for self-immunization and let me tell you, the pain from them is intense as he!!. My blues are eating rodents, but I force feed the others a rodent slurry. Most are very easy to handle, but the blues(caeruleus), are very quick and toxic as he!!. At my weight about 10 migs can wax you, that's a fraction of a ml. I started with fasciatus and diluted it in 8 oz of H2O and you wouldn't believe the pain it created, it lasted for about 5 straight days. But, now I can inject lethal doses w/ no worries, just alittle pain. Once again, sorry for that post, that's what happens when you have a wild party. If u have any q's, fire away. Tim
