Louisiana is NOT considering the same legislation as NC, but rather has already set up a permit system that allows qualified individuals to keep constrictors over 12ft in length and venomous snakes.
This permit system has been reviewed and was accepted by the Louisiana Reptile and Amphibian Task Force and was then forwarded to the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for a final review. It is currently passing its final hurdles into implementation, which is expected to be sometime this summer.

Thomas: Thanks for the update. I could not find any detailed information on the plans, but it sounded a lot like the NC thing. I should have put a " ? " at the end of my post. JohnZ

Hi all:
I know somebody who was on the Louisiana Reptile and Amphibian Task Force. The permit system will be much like Florida's system.
