The world's most toxic land snake is the Inland Taipan. It lives in the heart of Australia. The Costal Taipan is the 3rd most toxic snake and it also lives in Australia. It is most prevelant in northern Queensland.

The Inland Taipan is also known as the Fierce Snake. It is the top gun of the land snakes as far as I know.

The inland taipan isn't just the most venomous, drop for drop, land snake, but the most venomous snake period. Check Dr. Fry's website at venomdoc.com to see where the hotter sea snakes fall in line behind it. I believe it's not the only land lubber that is above the hydros either.
