I hope this isnt a dumb question, but since I have no one to discuss these things with, Ive always wondered...Is snake venom still lethal or as toxic if ingested or introduced into the body by any other means rather than injection into the body?

Not a dumb question at all.
Venom can be ingested (I have no idea why someone might want to do this) without harm UNLESS the person ingesting has a mouth infection or an ulcer, or any thing else that might provide access to the blood stream.
Even then I think, the envenomation would be relitivly minor - painful perhaps, but not all that bad. I certainly don't think enough could get into the blood stream that way for a fatality.
Could someone actually poison themselves or someone else (what do you have in mind, anyway?) with serpent venom? Sure, if he drank enough of it. But a large quanity of venom isn't easy to come by and you could get the same or better results with other substances, alcohol, for example.
Hope this helps.

Snake venom is composed of proteins and would be simply digested as proteins, much the way that proteins in a steak are digested.
Cheers
