Are there specific behaviors or ways to tell if a female gaboon viper is gravid?

The one thing that mine did was coil in an unusual way ; that is she would coil up in a conical or pyrimid fashion - not unlike a python would do on her eggs.
This would happen on some cool nights and I suspect she was conserving heat that way. Other than that she refused food about six weeks before birth in early Sept. Other than that everything was 'normal'. I never did see copulation.
