just wondering....does anyone know about how long it takes for snakes to make venom...for instance, if a viper used all its venom at once, on a meal, how long before it has full glands again..i assumed health, age, and other factors make a big difference...just wondering if anyone that milks them has a protocol on how long between sessions or if it's strictly species dependant.....and oh yeah...finally have my first hots as of today(crotalus h. atricaudatus, agkistrodon c. contortrix) thanks to bill spencer

I'm not sure offhand. I know that some venoms labs will milk allow an entire month between milkings. Others will do two weeks. Some may milk the sname snake for successive days at a time. The snakes with the longer intervals are healthier and have higher yields.
