Copperhead(Agkistrodon contortrix).
This is what most people here will tell you. Personaly, I`ve only handled one copper in my life and it was a pain to work with, very agressive.
Best regards, Alex S.

Filling out the profile page would help people answer your question.Type "first hot" in the search engine on this page.I would go with a copperhead or cottonmouth. (Agkistrodon contortrix,Agkistrodon piscivorous)But not knowing your age or what part of the world you live in, both may be illegal for you.Or in other parts of the world, other species may be much easier for you to get.Marty

The one to get by far is a copperhead. Now they can deffinately be a pain to work with but a great beginer snake by far. The second on the list would be a pigmy rattlesnake or a cottonmouth.
