sorry if it sounds a stupid question but has anyone any ideas of how to keep your room at a pretty constant temperature. i feel this is the reason my rock python has refused his food for the last three weeks and appart from a heat mat there is not much i can do to heat up his tank due to it being only a starter tank as its a hatchling. The room is normally warm and this is the first snake ive had a feeding problem with all be it that its not to serious after only 3 weeks. Any advice how to keep the tank or my room at a constant temperature or a steady temp would be most usefull. Thanks peeps

A good thermostat would help. Concentrate on the enclosure. Your hot spot should be 95 f. The cool end about 75. Ambient temp about 85. If you are using a heat pad for your hot end, your cool end will be slightly above room temp. If your room is colder than about 70, you need to get a space heater for the room. Unless your temps are way off, that is not your feeding problem. Have you been following previous suggestions. She will eat when she is ready. Be consistant. DO NOT try to feed her more than once a week.

Hi Az try using a small electric space heater but make sure you know exactly how hot it is gonna get do this by having thermometers in the viv. and outside in the room concerned if possible can you mount a simple bayonet fitting spot bulb as these are really easy to install as suggested dont try feeding more than once a week and if it refuses it take it out after leaving it with the snake for 2 hours max as I have 2 Royals that will only feed when quiet and left alone post back and let me know whats happening. p.s use a thermostat on the spot bulb so as not to cook the snake!Keyz
