Hey Jeff. I guess since no one else will reply, I'll give it a shot. Monocleds, like most tropical and subtropical snakes, breed during our fall/winter. That being said, they can also breed at any time of the year. They don't absolutely require any special cycling, though I've heard it can be beneficial. Some people even combat males to get them in the mood, though it's hardly necessary.
I've never personally bred them, but I do have a pair of black Pakistans that have been breeding like crazy over the past month. The female is now showing no interest in the male and is quite plump, so I'm expecting eggs from her over the next several weeks. What did I do to get them to breed? Nothing special, that's for sure! They were kept in the same enclosure since October, but showed no noticeable interest in each other. In late January, I noticed a few peculiarities that seemed to diverge from their normal activities, such as being out during the day, not staying under the hide, etc. There were just some odd little things that made me think something was changing. I then separated the male for a week or two because the female was looking plump and I didn't know if she was already gravid. She went through a shed cycle, and after two weeks went by with no eggs, I tried an experiment and placed him back in with her. They immediately locked up and I saw them breeding several times over the next couple of weeks. They're still together right now, but she's withdrawn from him and he's slowed his pursuits, so I think I'll separate them today.
Of course these aren't monocleds, but when it comes to Asian Naja they're all pretty much the same in regards to breeding behavior. Good luck with yours.
