Okay, here's the inside scoop for people that surf this site. Midwest is offering a free trip to Sri Lanka to do sea snake research. We aren't sure "when" it will be, but it will be this year.
All you have to do is fill out the questionairre at the following URL: https://rs289.securehostserver.com/%7Etongscom/srilanka/index.php
But, it sure wouldn't hurt your chances to send in a 10 minute video tape of what you do, what your herp experience is, and why you want to go on this trip. Last year's winner won BECAUSE of his video tape, if that's any clue. Your tape should show how you currently work with snakes, and what your knowledge level is. Things that will also help your chances are: being in excellent physical condition and previous knowledge of sea snakes.

So Chris,
CAn a couple of my friends convince you to vote for me? Perhaps my friend Ben? ;). Truth is that I haven't seen a Franklin in Several years (since I got married), but I would find one to have a shot at this trip!

When is the deadline for the video and questionaire? I could squeeze in a trip to Sri Lanka...I guess.

Today is there first day that the trip has been posted. It will be MONTHS before the deadline is posted. Probably mid-summer.
