Hi someone i know has a venomoid cobra and he was bitten by this cobra ( he seems proud of it aswell) . He puts the argument across that they dont need that venom to digest the prey so its not as bad as everyone makes out . What do you guys think ?

Venomous snakes should not be physically altered in order to satisfy the demand for more exotic and "different" snake species. If you cant keep venomous as they are then you shouldnt keep them at all. Its cruel and immoral. Furthermore anyone offered a venomoid should flattly refuse it as the market for these snakes would dissapear if there was no longer any demand for them. Unfortunately there are always people out there willing to exploit the natural world in order to make a quick buck. Mark

Look up all the previous posts (and there are many) on venomoids and im sure you will see what the general opinion of doing this to a snake is, My personnal view is, I hate it and he should be commitiing an offence in my book, he sounds very blase about the fact he was bitten, that is NEVER a good thing, Keyz.

"Hi someone i know has a venomoid cobra and he was bitten by this cobra ( he seems proud of it aswell)."
Sounds to me like he keeps venomoids for the same reasons other do.
"He puts the argument across that they dont need that venom to digest the prey so its not as bad as everyone makes out."
Sounds to me like he uses the same argument as others who keep venomoids do.
I hope you aren't someone who is influenced by others, regardless if they are a friend or not.
