Dr. Sean Bush`s toddler son was bitten by a small rattlesnake as he tried to put it into a box like he had seen his father do many times.
You can see the link below in the News Section.
It is a good thing that the toddler did not find a larger rattlesnake to try to catch.
Makes you wonder about bringing along small kids on snake hunting trips, or letting small kids watch as you work with snakes in your collection.
Best Regards JohnZ

choosing to keep them in the dark isn't good either, though.......i try and overinform my kids.....but kids will do things kids have been doing since the beginning of the human race, so all you can do is handle it......even adults do the same stupid things and that's what makes us human.......i don't think it's wrong to educate your kids or even let them see how it's all done.....i always do my best to make mine understand the dangers of it all.....every time she walks down our stairs at the house, she could literally fall and die....but what can you do? plastic bubble? more information > too little information

It is very unfortunate that Dr. Bush, who has done and continues to do so much for better undertanding, education of and treatment of snake envenomation, not to mention all the lives and limbs he has pesonally saved; to have this happen to his son. The entire Bush family has my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
