Folks use a lot of different types of water dishes in their reptile cages. Some of the best that I have found are the Glass Culture Dishes available from Carolina Bioligical Supply Company. We used these at Atlanta Zoo and Fernbank Science Center, and many other zoos accross the country use them. The average herper has no idea where to obtain them though. I have used them for many years in my reptile cages.

If you do order them, be sure to write in the comment section, saying something like: ``please wrap these carefully, as I have had them arrive broken in the past.`` If you do that, they will wrap the heck out of them with bubble wrap. If you do not do that, they do not pack them all that well, and you will end up with a couple broke ones in each shipment.
Just some general husbandry info.
Best Regards JohnZ

Chris, sounds like you have a much better walmart than we have in Loganville, GA.,LOL.
The only thing I have found here is plastic dog and cat water dishes, and no glassware in the cooking section that would serve as water bowls.
But this walmart is in a backward area, still sort of in the 1960`s, so it is not surprising!
Everytime I go there, I am expecting to hear Banjo Music from Deleverence, LOL !
There are some really ``rustic people`` living in Loganville, GA still, LOL !
Best Regards JohnZ

Hey cro long time no speak I just saw your post and it sound like you live in a very erm........ quiet? place. I have found that we seem to have a multitude of of differnt dishes availiable that will cater for all mt reptiles needs from 4inch by 4inch by 2inch deep dishes are great for my smaller lizards and snakes. and they go all the way up to a a ten and 15 litre version aswell i have a 10 litre one for my Savannah monitor to bath in and he loves it. All of these are plastic but I found with the larger one the water volume gives it enough weight to stop it gwtting tipped over by the monitor. The smaller ones however can and dop get tipped occasionally but considering there cheap price i save enough buying them from our local hardware store to buy lots of substarate. As the store where I get my reptile supplies is selling water bowls from exo terra for a small fortune. keyz.

Cro I live in a middle of nowhere and our Wall Mart is about the same way :)
But you may just be looking in a wrong section - go to the girly craft section, that's where you can usually find the glass stuff ;)
